MacBooks are great workstations and a common choice in the office to get work done (I'm writing this on a MacBook myself!) So when you are managing a large network, it's very likely that you will have some people using Mac devices as well.
That's why we built support for Mac device management for your RMM to keep your asset management ticking seamlessly. Now, you can manage both Windows and Mac devices together from a single space.
What does the Mac device management do?
Mac device management helps you monitor all the Mac endpoints in your client's network, and keep them healthy and secure. In terms of functionality, Mac device management in SuperOps.ai works almost identically to Windows device management.
With Mac device management, you can create policy sets to:
Get deep insights that will help you accurately gauge the health of your Mac devices.
Set custom alerts to get notified of any issues in your assets that need your attention.
Run scripts to manage your assets at scale.
Now that you are up to speed on downloading and deploying the Mac agents on your client's devices, let us go into detail on the kind of device information you can access through the agent.
Similar to Windows device management, you will have access to an array of useful information at your disposal. To find this information for a particular asset:
Click the Modules icon on the pane to the left. Under asset management, open the asset module.
Inside the asset module, select a view to open up the list of assets you want to see.
Click a particular asset to open up detailed information about it.
Once you are inside the asset information screen, you can see a list of metrics laid out under the summary tab. This is what the page looks like:
The summary tab gives you a quick overview of the current status of the asset.
Here's the list of details you will find in the summary tab:
CPU usage: where you can monitor to what extent the CPU's processor is being used.
Memory usage: where you can see how much storage is being occupied in the asset.
Net traffic: displays the current upload and download speeds of the asset.
Timeline: that shows a list of events that took place in the asset in chronological order.
Asset info: provides additional details about the asset, such as OS version, serial number, domain, and model.
The details tab provides a granular view of all the metrics in the summary tab. Here, you can see the finer details of each metric, and run scripts to fix any specific issues you spot.
You can see all the IT documentation that's associated with the particular asset in the IT documentation tab.
You can see the policy set that's associated with the particular asset in the policies tab. Click here to learn how you can create policy sets to manage your client's mac assets.
You can see all the existing tickets that have been associated with this asset in the tickets tab.
In the alerts tab, you can see all of the alerts that have been triggered by the particular asset.
In the scripts tab, you can see a detailed list of all the scripts that have been run on the particular asset and their status.
